About the Artist

Debra Riley - Biography

Debra Adams Riley

Debra was born in Okinawa, Japan, and has lived across the United States—including Colorado, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kansas, and Texas—experiences that have shaped her appreciation for diverse landscapes and cultures. She now resides in Montgomery, Texas.

Her professional background includes serving as Gallery Manager for The Madeley Fine Art Gallery, where she oversaw exhibitions, artist relations, and daily operations. She has also held multiple leadership roles within the Conroe Art League, including Treasurer, Vice President, and Secretary, working closely with the Board of Directors to support the organization’s growth and community outreach.

After a successful career in real estate and banking, Debra transitioned to oil painting, a medium that quickly became her passion. She is an active member of Oil Painters of America, the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, the International Guild of Realism, the Conroe Art League, the Lone Star Art Guild, and the Woodlands Art League. Her commitment to the arts extends beyond the studio—she was appointed to the City of Conroe Main Street Committee and participated in numerous community and arts initiatives.

Artist Statement “I have loved art since childhood and was always encouraged by my mother, an artist herself. My travels around the world have deeply influenced my work, and painting has become a meaningful way to document those experiences. Each piece is a challenging and rewarding journey—an opportunity to see people, places, and moments with renewed clarity and a fresh perspective.”
